A Greggs opened in the heart of Chalfont St. Peter on the 26th of October. The multi-billion pound ‘food-on-the-go-retailer’ is located at 1 Bishops House, Market Place, formerly Vantage Pharmacy.
News began to emerge that the much-loved franchise was coming to Chalfont St. Peter this August, when plans for the site were approved by Buckinghamshire Council.
Despite a sign which read “Opening tomorrow” appearing on the previous day, the shop was closed on the 25th of October. Although, the welcoming design appeared to be complete.
YouGov ranks the bakery chain as the most popular dining brand in the UK. However, during the struggles due to sewage floods and their effect on the village, this loved store could be seen as a ‘bacon’ of hope for residents of Chalfont St. Peter.
