More than 90,000 illegal cigarettes have been found during a raid on a property in Swansea. Officers from South Wales Police executed a warrant at an address in Oystermouth Road in the city last Thursday (December 19).
Illegal and/or counterfeit cigarettes were located at the property, along with illegal disposable vapes. A man was arrested in connection with the discovery and police continue to investigate. For the latest Welsh news delivered to your inbox sign up to our newsletter.
A spokesperson for South Wales Police said: “Officers assisted Swansea Council trading standards with a warrant at an address on Oystermouth Road on Thursday, December 19. The address was found to be used to store illegal/counterfeit cigarettes and disposable vapes. Over 90,000 cigarette packets and 1,800 illegal disposable vapes were seized. A 23-year-old man from Swansea city centre was arrested for being in possession of counterfeit goods, and is now under investigation by Trading Standards.”
