Asda issues December 31 deadline as it announces huge price change

Asda has announced it will be reducing the prices of key Christmas veg lines to just 15p from Thursday 19 December 2024. Available instore and online while stocks last, customers will be able get 1kg carrots (currently 69p), 500g sprouts (currently 85p), 360g broccoli (currently 79p) and 500g parsnips (currently 75p) for 15p each until Tuesday, December 24.

For the first time, Asda will also be including 2kg potatoes in the offer (currently £1.35) meaning customers can bag all the key Christmas dinner sides for a fraction of the price – slashing £3.68 off the final bill.

Asda is also offering British Whole Fresh Turkey at the price of £3/kg (cheaper this year, than it was in 2023) which will also be available from Thursday, December 19, instore.

Nearly 5 million Asda customers are already guaranteed money off their Christmas shop this year, having spent almost a year saving up using Asda Rewards Christmas Saver Cashpot. With the number of shoppers using the initiative to save increasing +176% year on year, some customers will have saved enough to guarantee them an entirely ‘free Christmas dinner’. The supermarket is urging customers to ensure they convert their cashpot savings into vouchers before they expire in less than three weeks (on 31 December 2024).

With 50% of Asda’s Christmas Delivery slots already booked up, the supermarket is also urging customers not to miss out on having their Christmas shop delivered straight to their door or picked up via click and collect. For those juggling festive plans, shoppers can make changes or additions to their basket up until 11pm the night before their delivery or collection.
