The winner of the third series of BBC show The Traitors was finally named in a final that was dubbed ‘carnage’ by viewers.
Five out 25 original contestants made it all the way through to the final episode, including Francesca (Frankie), Alexander, Jake, Leanne and Charlotte. Ultimately, it was Leanne and Jake who were crowned the joint winners as they were both Faithfuls when the game ended.
Just the one Traitor remained among them ahead of the airing of the last episode in Charlotte after she was recruited. However, a last minute twist saw Frankie be awarded with a power that was never seen before. She was granted the ability of The Seer and chose to force Charlotte to reveal her true identity. Despite seeing it written down that she was indeed a Traitor, Charlotte was confident that the game was over. Indeed she spent much of the final day in the castle claiming her innocence and turning on the tears.

It eventually lead to dramatic scenes in the final Round Table were Charlotte attempted to turn the tables on Frankie. She fell short however and was received the most votes, falling at the final hurdle. Viewers were quick to react on social media as one posted: “This final is absolute carnage.”
As the remaining four made it to the endgame, they then voted whether to end the game or vote for another banishment. All four chose to banish again. This saw Alexander banished from the game, even though only Faithfuls remained. Despite it being in a Traitor’s interest to end the game, the players continued to vote for a banishment believing one remained amongst their small number. In the second round Frankie was ousted.

This meant that Leanne and Jake walked away with a share of the prize fund which stood at £94,600. One fan reacted, sharing their thoughts on the voting amongst Faithfuls: “Is this real belief in another Traitor or a cash grab?”
While one supporter of Alexander commented: “Saying ‘not at all’ after people stopping you from winning tens of £1000s is peak British.” Many were unhappy with one person adding: “Bring back Minah & give her the money” and another stating: “When the lasting Faithfuls choose to be more Traitor-like than the actual Traitors have done this entire series.”
