The Traitors fans enjoyed another tension-filled episode last night (January 8), witnessing the return of three players who had sacrificed themselves at the very start of the new season.
In the first episode of the third series, which began on January 1, viewers saw Jack, Fozia and Alexander volunteer to step off the the train carrying players to Ardross Castle and seemingly forfeiting their spot in the game for good. But in a surprise twist that aired last night, the trio made a return via a ‘rail replacement’ carriage. However, their spot in the game was not guaranteed, with only two places available.
During the episode’s mission, the players had to secure gold coins to lower the two people they wanted to join them in the game, with the first two to hit the ground securing a place. Of the three, Fozia and Alexander won the group’s support, with Jack left hanging and therefore ousted from the game for a second time.

Following the episode, Jack, a 25-year-old landscaper, made the heartbreaking admission that he was ‘holding back tears’ as he stood in the cage.
“I quite liked swinging in the cage up there. I’m very much a Leo in that I quite like being the centre of attention. Then very quickly it became less fun and as every second went by, it got less and less and less fun. And then I was out of the competition,” he shared.
He continued: “I was fully holding back tears because I’d put my heart and soul into getting there. I know it’s so unrealistic to go into a competition with the mindset of, I’m going to win this but, but you’re in that bubble at that time. You’ve got to be in it to win it. You’ve got to have a that attitude. Otherwise, what’s the point in taking part? Honestly and thoroughly, I believed I was going to win.”

Ahead of his stint on the show, Jack had shared he wanted to play the game as a Traitor. Despite his day job as a landscaper, he ‘secretly trained’ as an actor. His acting credits include a starring role in an ad for the Luton Airport Express as well as the Amazon Prime film, The Apocalypse Box.
He divulged to the BBC: “I have secretly trained as an actor. I moved to London when I was 18, moved away from Yorkshire and I didn’t really tell too many of my family and friends that that’s what I was going to do, because I think there’s a bit of a stigma around it in the area that I live in, people think ‘Oh he wants to go off and chase the acting dream.’
“So, I think I’m used to being put into situations which are hostile and unfamiliar. I think I can kind of play it a little bit dumb, maybe act like the ditzy gardener and landscaper who secretly has his own agenda, and hopefully a couple of acting skills to back that up.”
The Traitors continues tonight at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer
