Belvedere charity shop shuts early after worker ‘punched’ day before Christmas Eve

A charity shop has been forced to close early after a shopkeeper was attacked just a day before Christmas Eve.

Police were called to reports of an assault on a shopkeeper at The Animal Protection Shop in Nuxley Road, Belvedere, today (December 23) at 11.14pm.

A woman was found with minor injuries to her face.

The attacker however has not been found and police are continuing to look for her.

Carrie Holliman, the managing director of the shop, said the shop had to be closed after the attack.

She claimed that the female worker fell to the ground and was “blindsided” by the attack.
