Amie Gray, 34, from Poole, was murdered at Durley Chine Beach on May 24 – Dorset Police
The suspect accused of stabbing a personal trainer to death on Bournemouth beach scouted the area in the days leading up to the attack, a court has heard.
Nasen Saadi, 20, is on trial at Winchester Crown Court charged with the murder of 34-year-old Amie Gray and the attempted murder of her friend Leanne Miles, 38, at the same location.
Gray suffered 10 knife wounds including one of “severe force” that injured her heart before she died, the jury heard.
The courtroom fell silent as jurors were shown CCTV footage from the days leading up to the attack in which the man claimed to be Saadi could be seen walking along the promenade in what Sarah Jones KC, prosecuting, suggested were “recces” for the ambush.
On the day of the attack, May 24, the man is shown buying wet wipes and nail clippers at a Superdrug store in Bournemouth town centre before also going for a walk along the sea front to buy an ice cream in the afternoon.
The jury was then shown footage of Ms Miles arriving at Durley Chine beach at 9.10pm followed by Ms Gray, wearing shorts and sports clothing, at 9.47pm.

Saadi, from Croydon in south London, is then shown in the footage to leave his hotel at 10.43pm and walk down to the seafront before walking along the promenade towards Durley Chine, where the attack took place.
The defendant can be seen loitering near the victims for half an hour as they sat in shadows by the fire, the prosecutor said.
The man can then be seen attacking the two women before one of the pair manages to get on to the promenade.
The prosecution say that the footage then shows the man, which they say is Saadi, arriving back at the Silver How hotel at 11.50pm.

Ms Jones KC has previously told the court that Saadi planned a random killing.
In March and April, Mr Saadi carried out internet searches for “deadliest knife”, “machete” and “what hotels don’t have CCTV”, she previously said.
Ms Jones concluded: “He seems to have wanted to know what it would be like to take life.”
The defendant denies the murder of Mrs Gray and attempted murder of Ms Miles.
He has accepted a charge of failing to comply with a notice requirement disclosure.
The trial continues.
