Bus services across London to be SCRAPPED on Christmas Day

Buses will see significant changes over the festive period, with no buses running on Christmas Day, according to the TfL’s holiday timetable.

TfL operates one of the world’s largest bus networks, with over 9,000 buses covering 700 routes across London, offering flat fares of £1.75 with unlimited journeys within an hour on the Hopper fare.

The network prioritizes accessibility and sustainability, featuring wheelchair-accessible vehicles and an increasing number of electric and hybrid buses aiming for a zero-emission fleet by 2034.

Here are all the London bus changes from Monday, December 23 to Monday, December 30:

Monday, December 23: Normal Monday School Holiday timetable for day routes; normal Monday service for night buses.

Christmas Eve, Tuesday, December 24: Saturday timetables for day routes. Route SL6 will follow its usual weekday schedule, and route 969 will operate. No night bus services will run, and 24-hour routes will end around midnight.

Christmas Day, Wednesday December 25: No bus services at all.

Boxing Day, Thursday December 26: Sunday timetables will apply to both day and night buses.

Friday, December 27: Saturday timetables for day routes. Route SL6 will run a normal weekday service, and night buses will follow a Saturday night timetable.

Saturday, December 28: Normal Saturday timetable for both day and night buses.

Sunday, December 29: Normal Sunday timetable for both day and night buses.

Monday, December 30: Saturday timetables for day buses. Route SL6 will run as usual on weekdays, with a Saturday night service for night buses.

Passengers are advised to plan their journeys carefully during this period, especially on Christmas Day, when no buses will operate across London.
