Calling all birdwatching enthusiasts! Join special event at Newport Wetlands

Nature enthusiasts are gearing up for a birdwatching event at Newport Wetlands.

The guided walk, titled “What’s That Bird?”, will take place on Saturday, January 25, from 11am until 1pm.

Led by a resident expert, participants will learn to identify various bird calls, including those of small warblers and migratory birds like Redwing and Fieldfare.

The RSPB member ticket price is £6.60, while non-members will pay £8.

The event is part of preparations for the upcoming Big Garden Birdwatch, which takes place from January 24 to 26.

Last year, more than 600,000 people in the UK participated in this event, counting 9.7 million birds.

The survey aims to monitor the health of bird populations, which are facing numerous challenges.
