Cardiff City striker Kion Etete is reportedly a January transfer target for Huddersfield Town.
The Bluebirds forward has not kicked a ball in anger this season after suffering a hamstring injury in the final game of the club’s pre-season tour of Austria.
Etete was signed by Steve Morison from Tottenham back in 2022 but has not hit the heights expected despite showing some signs of promise in patches. Sign up to our daily Cardiff City newsletter here.

And Football Insider claim that Huddersfield, who are managed by former Swansea boss Michael Duff, could be keen on signing the centre-forward on loan in the new year.
It is understood that Cardiff are keen to make room in their squad, having used their full allocation of 25 players, and will need to chop that number down if they are to bring in the required reinforcements to push them away from the bottom three in the second half of the campaign.

The likes of Wilfried Kanga, Ryotaro Tsunoda and Cian Ashford have all been tipped for moves away in the new year and now Etete is the latest to join that list.
Etete, who has nine goals in 62 appearances in all competitions for the Bluebirds, suffered a setback on his road to recovery during the most recent international break last month.
Manager Omer Riza said of the 23-year-old’s current state: “He’s training. He broke down after the friendly game we had (against Brentford), but he is now back out on the grass and he is training. He is still not quite there but working towards it.”
