Coleen Rooney praises Wayne’s support at home after Plymouth exit as she shares unconventional fitness secret

Coleen Rooney has shared how much she values having her husband, Wayne Rooney, back home after his recent departure as Plymouth manager.

The former Manchester United star left his role in December following a tough run of results, and his return has brought a welcome change to their busy family life, allowing her to have some balance back to her day-to-day life.

“It’s great now that Wayne’s back home as well, so we are sharing [the school run],” Coleen explained. “So I’ve been able to either, y’know, Wayne will do the school run, and I’ll get an early gym session in.”

With four sons—Kai, 15, Klay, 11, Kit, eight, and Cass, six—the Rooneys have a hectic household. Mornings are especially chaotic, with Coleen juggling everything from breakfast to the school run.

“It’s four different breakfasts, and it’s like, some people just put some cereal on the sides, and [the kids] help themselves. But no, we have bacon butties, we have pancakes. We have everything. Fussy boys, and then I do the school run,” she shared.

Despite the madness, Coleen always finds time to prioritise her fitness—even if it means sneaking in quick exercises during unconventional moments.

“I do squats in the shower every morning, and people say, ‘Why do you do them in the shower?’ It’s because that’s the only time I have for like me, and I know I’ve a few minutes to get a few squats in,” she said.

She added with a laugh, “Usually I have an audience as well. If the kids get up, they sit in the bathroom watching me. I always get that in so I know I’ve done some sort of exercise.”

Speaking at the launch of her new range with Applied Nutrition, where she is both an investor and ambassador, Coleen also revealed how Wayne has been supportive of her work.

Referring to her sleeping supplement from the brand, she shared, “It doesn’t matter whether you have problems with sleeping or not, it just relaxes you. Me and Wayne, we were in bed the other night, and we had one. He had one flavour, and I had the other. We were comparing.”

Wayne continued his show of support as he attended her launch at London’s White City House alongside several of her I’m A Celebrity campmates; Maura Higgins, Oti Mabuse, Danny Jones, Dean McCullough, Jane Moore and Barry McGuigan.
