Dad claims he was shot at by pellet gun while driving with his young son and baby

A FATHER has claimed that he, along with his baby and young son, were shot at by a pellet gun during a road rage incident while he was driving in Cwmbran last week.

The father, Marc Jelly, said: “My car with my baby and young son was shot at assuming by a pellet gun by some road raging idiot by Sainsbury’s roundabout.”

Mr Jelly said he had reported the matter to the police. Due to the nature of the incident the police are unable to confirm that his car was shot at.

A spokesperson for Gwent Police said that Mr Jelly reportedly found two small marks below his rear window after an alleged road rage incident.

Mr Jelly’s baby and young son were with him in the car at the time. He confirmed that they are all ok.

Mr Jelly claimed that the matter was down to a road rage, saying: “Other cars were beeping and flashing lights back at this car also (These cars would of been travelling towards the new estate/Sebastopol way).”

Mr Jelly has asked people fir any help or information on the matter, saying: “Has anyone got any Dash Cam/Ring/CCTV footage from around 17:00-17:10 on 06/01/2025. Of a Silver (Citroen C2 VTS Style blacked windows) or similar looking car. A name or Reg or any footage would help.”

Mr Jelly said the car would have been “coming from Lowlands Road/Five Locks Road onto Grove Park then going on to Cwmbran Driver towards ALDIs, then by the Sainsbury’s/B&M Roundabout”.

The police released the following statement: “We received a report of criminal damage in Cwmbran Drive on Monday 6 January after a driver found damage to his car following an alleged road rage incident.

“A car believed to be a silver Citroen C1, had reportedly flashed and beeped at the motorist at around 5pm while driving along Cwmbran Drive (A4051).

“Once parked, the motorist who had been beeped at reportedly found two small marks below his rear window. The cause of the damage is unknown and anyone with information, including CCTV or dashcam footage, is asked to contact us quoting log reference 2500006055.
