A construction developer has educated pupils about safety near its building site.
Lovell gave presentations to 118 pupils from years four to six at Meadowlane Primary School in St Mellons, Cardiff.
The school is less than a mile from Lovell’s St Mellons Community Living Project, under construction for Cardiff Council.
The sessions aimed to teach children to identify potential safety hazards on construction sites.
Pupils were given the opportunity to wear hi-vis vests and hard hats, some of which were donated to the school.
Lovell also introduced the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) to the children.
This ensures developers work safely and respectfully within the community.
Dosbarth Clun, a year six class at Meadowlane, said: “We enjoyed learning about all the safety gear that is worn on site and the reasons why they are worn.
“We learned about many different roles that make up Lovell – both office-based and site-based.
“We learned the names of many of the vehicles and machines on site.”
Gemma Clissett, regional partnerships director at Lovell, added: “As the St Mellons Community Living Project is located so close to Meadowlane Primary School, it was important for us to teach the pupils about how they can stay safe.”
