Residents across four counties remain without power following Storm Darragh’s impact.
Dyfed-Powys Police has highlighted drop-in centres for those affected in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and Powys.
These centres offer facilities to charge mobile devices, enjoy a hot drink, and in some locations, access hot showers.
In Carmarthenshire, Carmarthen, St Clears, and Llandovery leisure centres will be open until midnight today.
Carmarthen and St Clears will reopen tomorrow morning at 6.30am, while Llandovery will open at 7.30am.
People can also fill up their own flasks with hot water to take home. There will also be shower facilities, charging facilities for electrical devices and hot drinks.
In Ceredigion, Council Offices in Penmorfa, Cardigan Leisure Centre, and Plascrug Leisure Centre are open to the public.
However, shower facilities in Aberaeron are currently unavailable. But showers are available in the other two facilities. Hot drinks and charging facilities for electric devices are available in all three, as well as the ability to fill up flasks of hot water to take home.
In Pembrokeshire, Haverfordwest Leisure Centre, St Davids Leisure Centre, Letterston Memorial Hall, Tenby Leisure Centre, and Pembroke Leisure Centre will remain open until 9pm today and will reopen at 6am tomorrow.
Crymych Leisure Centre, which may also cater to people living on the border with Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire, is also available.
In Powys, Welshpool and Brecon leisure centres will be open until midnight today and will stay open overnight if necessary.
These centres will provide a chance to keep warm, have a hot drink and snack, and recharge batteries.
Residents are advised to check their council’s website or social media accounts for more details.
The police have thanked the communities for their efforts in checking on neighbours, friends, and family members during this challenging time.
