Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has enjoyed dinner at one of Wales’ best restaurants. On Instagram, renowned chef Gareth Ward shared that the singer, notable for his hit singles such as Shape of You, Perfect and Thinking Out Loud, had paid his restaurant Ynyshir near Machynlleth a visit.
The Powys eatery is the only Welsh restaurant to be awarded two Michelin stars, and is the most highly-awarded restaurant in Wales. It was named Best Restaurant in the UK two years running in 2022 and 2023, and has received five AA rosettes. It is also ranked in the UK’s top five UK restaurants by the Good Food Guide.
Located in the peaceful setting of the Dyfi Estuary, Ynyshir has become a destination restaurant over the years. On Saturday, December 14, award winning chef Gareth Ward confirmed that the singer had come to dine at the renowned restaurant. The dinner experience at Ynyshir starts at £385 per person, with the booking diary released two months in advance. On Visit Wales, promoting the restaurant, chef Gareth Ward said: “My dream is to make Ynyshir a destination restaurant that people travel to for an experience they can’t have anywhere else. Because this part of the world, this part of Wales, this building – everything about it deserves to be at the highest level and I won’t stop until we get there.”
