Exclusive first look at the new gastropub replacing another Sutton restaurant

A new British gastropub-themed restaurant has opened its doors in Sutton and replaced a burger joint.

The Dining Room at No.6 opened on November 1 after the same owners were forced to close down The Bun Club in late October.

The site at 6 Sutherland House on 29 Brighton Road has gone through a complete refurb, transforming from a burger joint to a modern British restaurant with a gastropub vibe.

The inside now boasts a forest-like interior, with dark green painted walls and plants.

The menu has changed to accommodate a range of British pub-style meals, such as lamb shank, pork belly, and ribeye steak.

A vibrant chalkboard now takes centre stage, showcasing the day’s specials in bold, handwritten script.

The bar now offers a selection of alcoholic drinks, allowing customers to request their preferred choices, even if they’re not listed on the menu.

To ensure swift service, waiters and waitresses can place their plates on a designated shelf at the bar between the kitchen and dining room, where the dishwasher promptly takes care of them.

Co-owner Giuseppe “Joe” Paini said: “We’ve done a refurb, where we’ve put trinkets and hung pictures up, and hung plants and things to make a change.

“The menus are new, the design of the menus are new, every dish is new.

“So, now it’s a proper restaurant rather than a burger bar.”

The Dining Room at No.6 is open from 5pm to 10.30pm from Tuesday to Friday, 12pm to 10.30pm on Saturday, 12pm to 9pm on Sunday, and closed on Monday.
