Goodwill gesture would have been appreciated

I recently wrote to the Caerphilly County Borough Council on behalf of traders and residents as the winter fair was cancelled, and asked that car parking charges be deferred up until the New Year in Blackwood High Street  to help them

The Council responded stating: “It would not be appropriate to single out one town centre and cancel car parking charges in that single town in the run up to Christmas, particularly when the most recent cross party review of car parking charges concluded that there should be equity across the county borough and that free December parking should cease. We will now make a special effort to make the next Blackwood event (spring fayre) a success and look forward to working with you as local members and the town council to achieve that.”

I find this most disappointing for my town of Blackwood  it’s traders and residents as this goodwill gesture would have certainly been appreciated
