Gwent hospice leading the way as one of the best places to work

THE WINNERS of the Best Place to Work Award at the South Wales Health and Care awards said they were delighted to have won the award.

The award, sponsored by Tovey Brothers, goes to the company, practice, hospital or other healthcare setting that believes its environment is the best place to work.

St David’s Hospice Care in Malpas, Newport, won the award at The South Wales Health and Care Awards 2024, which were sponsored by the University of South Wales.

Emma Saysell, a manager at the St David’s Hospice said: “We are absolutely delighted. The staff felt very proud to be working for the hospice.

“We are delighted. The award was the recognition that the staff deserve,” said Ms Saysell.

St David’s Hospice Care employs just over 200 people and they have a menopause support group, a number of mental health first-aiders and run an annual well-being survey to ‘check in’ with staff.
