Have your say on Pembrokeshire County Council draft strategy

Pembrokeshire County Council is seeking public input on its new well-being objectives.

These objectives are part of a draft corporate strategy aimed at enhancing the well-being of residents and communities.

The current corporate strategy, which was approved in May 2023, outlines 12 well-being objectives.

However, the council is now proposing to streamline these to four main objectives, to better focus on key challenges and opportunities.

The proposed objectives are: ensuring the best start in life for children and young people; fostering prosperous and sustainable environments; caring for individuals while promoting active and connected communities; and maintaining a financially sustainable, well-governed council.

The council believes that these new objectives will provide a sharper focus on the most pressing issues facing the community.

Once finalised, the new well-being objectives will underpin the corporate strategy for 2025 to 2030.

People can access the draft corporate strategy 2025-30 document on the council’s website, which outlines the proposed objectives and the council’s planned actions for implementation.

The council is keen to hear public opinion on the draft strategy, which can be shared through an online response form.

Individuals who prefer a paper format can request a copy by calling 01437 764551 or emailing enquiries@pembrokeshire.gov.uk.

The consultation period is set to close on February 2, 2025.
