A health-conscious TikTok chef has stirred up a frenzy on social media with her unconventional Christmas Eve salad.
Sharing the details of this unique festive dish beloved by her family and friends, @nutritiouslyeasy, also known as Maty Harrington, revealed how she sidelines traditional lettuce in favour of more yuletide fare, including a divisive component that has some followers in an uproar.
Despite mixed reactions in the comments, many seem enchanted by her creation. She said: “Here’s the salad I make every year for Christmas Eve because it’s super easy and healthy and my guests are always obsessed with it.”

As she dives into the recipe, she unveils finely diced Brussels sprouts as a key element, combined with bacon, pomegranates, and parmesan cheese.
Maty insists on the simplicity and swift preparation of the dish, adding: “It’s just one of those dishes that people are always impressed with but little do they know that it only took you like, 10 minutes to whip up.
“Also a quick tip for if cruciferous vegetables like Brussels sprouts, make you bloat, sauté them for a few minutes. It really helps and tastes just as good.”
The nutritionist also supplied a list of ingredients for the dressing: three tablespoons of olive oil, one tablespoon of lemon juice, one tablespoon of Dijon mustard, plus salt and pepper were recommended to complement the dish. Maty revealed in her post that it would be her “seventh year in a row” preparing this salad.
Some followers expressed surprise at the inclusion of raw Brussels sprouts. Comments included: “Are the Brussels raw?” and questions such as: “Are those just chopped Brussels sprouts or cooked and chopped?”
However, another user clarified they are indeed “not cooked,” explaining: “They have a similar texture to cabbage and I think taste better raw. Don’t be afraid of them!”
Not everyone was enthralled by the idea of cold sprouts in a salad as one person expressed: “OMG cold sprouts. What fresh hell is this?!” Others approached the recipe with more enthusiasm, suggesting their own tweaks to enhance the flavour.
Positive feedback came in the form of remarks such as: “YES! You had us at Brussels Sprouts.” and “Just made this for lunch! Chef’s kiss! Thank you for posting.”
