Here’s why there was congestion on a major A road this morning

A broken down vehicle caused major congestion this morning.

Reports of a collision that happened earlier this morning have since been debunked.

Around 9am, reports of a ‘collision’ on the A4042 Southbound from A4051 (Croes-Y-Mwyalch Roundabout) to the M4 (Grove Park Roundabout) were first reported.

A spokesperson for Gwent Police said: “There was a report of a broken-down vehicle at 8.20am today (Thursday 16 January).”

Traffic flow has since resumed as normal.
