FOR anyone hoping for a White Christmas, there might be a bit of disappointment coming over the next week in the run up to the big day.
It looks like it could be a rather wet week ahead, with clouds and patchy rain appearing across Gwent from the early part of the week.
Despite the wet weather, temperatures are looking reasonably good for this time of year, with averages of between eight and 12 degrees throughout the week.
According to the Met Office, Monday will likely have some patchy rain and drizzle which may develop into sunny spells with brisk westerly winds easing throughout the afternoon.
The afternoon will stay mild and feel pleasant in the sunshine, with a maximum temperature of 12 degrees.
Tuesday through to Thursday is looking wetter, with rain spreading from the southwest on Tuesday, and further outbreaks of rain developing during Wednesday.
Turning brighter and more showery on Thursday but remaining often windy. It could briefly be very mild, though colder later.
