A housebuilder has donated gifts to an initiative that aims to ensure Monmouthshire’s most vulnerable children will receive a Christmas present.
Vistry Group set up a collection point and donated gifts, including toys, games, balls, deodorant packs, toiletries, and chocolates, to the Christmas Wishes initiative.
Sarah Sperring, regional customer service director at Vistry Bristol, said: “We’re pleased to support the Christmas Wishes initiative again this year.
“The children’s services team at Monmouthshire County Council do a fantastic job and they’re currently organising the presents, matching them with individuals, and then distributing over the coming days.”
The gifts will be given to children and families social services are working with, children who are looked after, disabled children and young people, and care leavers who have no family.
Karen Power, business support manager at Monmouthshire County Council, added: “We want to ensure Monmouthshire’s most vulnerable children and young people are not forgotten this Christmas.
“We’re very grateful to everyone who has supported the Christmas Wishes campaign and would like to thank Vistry Group for the kind donations.”
To give to Monmouthshire children’s services appeal, people can visit the council’s website and select ‘services’ and the drop down to ‘Christmas Wishes’.
Vistry Group is building new Bovis and Linden homes locally at Seymour Place in Undy.
The development features two, three and four-bedroom energy-efficient homes, as well as open spaces and a trim trail.
The development will contribute more than £1.67 million towards education, play provisions, off-site recreation, sustainable transport, open space, and green infrastructure.
