Newcastle United welcome League Two outfit Bromley to St James’ Park in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon.

The Magpies have not won the FA Cup in more than half a century, with Eddie Howe attempting to break that competition duck this season, with his team in fine form.

In classic FA Cup fashion, this is the first-ever meeting between the two teams. Coincidentally, Newcastle played AFC Wimbledon for the first time ever in the League Cup earlier this season, so this is the first campaign they have faced two clubs for the first time since 1978-1979.

Here’s everything you need to know about the match, including how to watch it.

When is Newcastle v Bromley?

Newcastle v Bromley kicks off at 3pm on Sunday, January 12.

Howe’s Newcastle have won their last five Premier League games, with star striker Alexander Isak third in the top scorer charts, with 13 in 18 games.

Viewing details

For viewers in the United Kingdom, Newcastle United v Bromley is being shown live on the BBC Red Button. It’s also being shown on the BBC Sport Website and BBC iPlayer online.

No player has been involved in more goals in the FA Cup this season than Bromley’s Corey Whitely – two goals and two assists.

Team updates

It’s possible that star man Isak could be rested against Bromley this weekend, after picking up a hamstring issue against Arsenal on Tuesday.

Callum Wilson has just returned from a hamstring injury himself, but he hasn’t started training with his team-mates yet. Martin Dubravka is likely to start in goal, with Nick Pope not ready for first-team football yet.

Going up against an elite Premier League club, Bromley are likely to draft in some of their senior players, with it being possible that 37-year-old Byron Webster could start the game.
