Personally, I think one of the most exciting things within a community is when a new restaurant comes to town.
And when I found out that The Bun Club in Sutton no longer existed, I was shocked.
A few seconds later, I found out that the same owners had opened a new restaurant on the same site.
And I just had to try it.
The Dining Room at No.6 in Sutton is a warm and inviting addition to the area’s dining scene, transforming the space that once housed The Bun Club into something truly special.
Stepping in from the freezing weather, I was immediately welcomed by the cosy, gastro-pub-style interior.
The atmosphere was both relaxed and refined, setting the tone for what would become one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a while.
The evening started with a drinks menu that showcased creativity and attention to detail.
I chose their special Espresso Martini, which was expertly crafted—smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced.

For my appetiser, I went for the Arancini Ragu.
This dish was a revelation: the risotto rice balls, filled with a hearty blend of beef Bolognese, peas, and mozzarella, were fried to golden perfection and served with a spicy tomato sauce that tied everything together beautifully.

It was one of those starters that made you excited for the rest of the meal.
One of the standout aspects of the evening was the service.
The staff had impeccable timing; they didn’t rush you, nor did they leave you waiting.
Each course arrived just when you were ready, creating a seamless dining experience that allowed you to fully enjoy the food and atmosphere.
For my main course, I opted for the 10oz Aged Ribeye, a 28-day aged steak cooked to absolute perfection.
(Image: Ezekiel Bertrand) I also decided to add “learn how steak doneness works” to my New Year’s Resolution list.
The portion size was generous, and the flavours were phenomenal.
I paired it with both bearnaise and peppercorn sauces—my first time trying these—and they were complementing the rich, tender steak wonderfully.
I also appreciated the thoughtful accompaniments of French fries and a fresh salad, but the real surprise was the return of the homemade burger sauce from The Bun Club days.
I was thrilled to discover that the owners had kept this gem on the menu, and it elevated the fries to something truly special.
Despite feeling completely satisfied, dessert was non-negotiable.
I ordered the raspberry panna cotta cheesecake, and it was the perfect ending to the meal.
The balance of creamy, silky panna cotta with the subtle tartness of strawberries made for a light yet indulgent dessert.

As the evening went on, the atmosphere grew even more delightful.
A nearby table was celebrating a birthday, and when the staff brought out a cupcake with a candle, the entire restaurant joined in to sing “Happy Birthday.”
It was a small but heartwarming moment that perfectly encapsulated the warm and welcoming vibe of the restaurant.
The Dining Room at No.6 is not just a restaurant; it’s an experience.
The combination of outstanding food, impeccable service, and a charming atmosphere makes it a standout addition to Sutton.
I can confidently say it’s set to become a favourite for locals and visitors alike.
If my visit is anything to go by, this place will do incredibly well, and I, for one, can’t wait to return.
