The Tri-Pod in Ceredigion isn’t your average countryside escape — it’s a showstopper. With its sharp triangular design and expansive floor-to-ceiling glass frontage, this sleek glamping pod offers a modern twist on rural relaxation.
But this isn’t some over-styled novelty. Set on a working farm near Llanarth, it’s an adults-only hideaway that’s as practical as unique. It offers a private hot tub, sweeping views of the countryside and sea, and resident alpacas in the adjacent field to keep you company.
Its timber-clad exterior blends seamlessly with the landscape, while the glass frontage pulls in every inch of those rolling fields and big skies. From the moment you step onto the deck, it’s clear this place is designed for switching off.

It feels quiet, private, and just a little whimsical, llike you’ve stumbled into a countryside escape that knows exactly what you need without trying too hard.
The Tri-Pod isn’t just a one-off. It’s part of the Pantcefn Luxury Glamping collection, a trio of carefully designed pods found on the working farm.
Alongside the striking Tri-Pod, the Rusty Boathouse and the Piglet Pod offer unique charm but share the same thoughtful attention to detail that makes this upscale glamping group stand out.
The glampsite location is just as impressive. Set high on a hillside, they all offer sweeping views of the surrounding countryside, with the Irish Sea glinting in the distance. And while the countryside atmosphere feels perfectly peaceful, you’re just a short drive from the golden beaches of Aberaeron and New Quay.
Here’s what you can expect from adults who only stay in the Tri-Pod.
Inside the pod

Stepping inside, I was struck by how cosy yet spacious this swish pod felt. The stylish interior is a mix of rustic and modern, with warm timber-clad walls that make the space feel inviting, but with contemporary touches that make it feel more luxurious than your average glamping setup.
The spiral staircase in the middle is attention-grabbing. It curves up to the mezzanine bedroom, where the king-size bed is tucked snugly under the apex of the pod. It’s one of those cwtchy spaces that feels like it’s been designed for lying in bed with a morning coffee and a good book. I don’t think I’ve ever had a better excuse to stay in bed a little longer.

Back downstairs, the living area is thoughtfully laid out. A caramel-coloured leather sofa is positioned perfectly by the front of the glass frontage and the electric fireplace.
The couch became my go-to spot for reading in the evenings, though I’ll admit I spent just as much time staring at the view. It’s where you don’t need to entertain yourself much — the surroundings do it for you.
Kitchen and bathroom

The kitchen, while compact, is well-equipped. It’s got everything you need, including an induction hob, a proper oven, and even a microwave.
I’m frankly not much of a chef (give me a takeaway curry any day), but even a simple breakfast feels special when you can take it outside and wave to the resident alpacas.
The bathroom is small but perfectly designed like everything else in the swish pod. The shower was spacious enough, and the fluffy robes hanging nearby were a welcome touch after an evening in the hot tub.
Much thought has gone into every detail, from the soft lighting to the clever storage spaces that keep things neat and uncluttered.
The outdoor space

But it’s the outdoor space that really sets the Tri-Pod apart. The triangular deck mirrors the shape of the pod itself, and it feels like an extension of the interior.
A seating area for al fresco dining, a firepit for cosy evenings, and a private hot tub. I wasted no time testing it out. Sitting in the bubbling water with a glass of wine watching the sun dip below the horizon felt like the definition of unwinding.
And when the twinkling stars came out, I realised I hadn’t seen a clear sky in ages. It’s the setting that makes you forget about your phone entirely.

The firepit was another highlight. One evening, I wrapped myself in a blanket, toasted marshmallows, and just sat there listening to the quiet of the countryside.
It’s a simple thing, but it felt like such a luxury. Even the outdoor shower, which I wasn’t sure I’d use, was a surprising treat.
A place designed for relaxation

What I love most about the Tri-Pod is its design, which encourages you to slow down. Everything about the space, from the thoughtful layout to the soft furnishings, feels like an invitation to relax.
It’s not flashy, but it’s stylish, and it has a way of making you feel at home almost instantly. Even the alpacas seem to add to the atmosphere, occasionally popping their heads over the fence to see what you’re up to before wandering off again.
I didn’t realise how much I needed a place like this until I was there. It’s the perfect balance of quirky, comfortable, and luxurious.
Whether you’re soaking in the bubbly hot tub, reading on the sofa, or just sitting on the deck watching the sky change colour, something about The Tri-Pod makes you want to stay a little longer. And honestly, I was in no hurry to leave.
Exploring Cardigan Bay

Staying at The Tri-Pod puts you in the perfect spot to explore one of Wales’s most beautiful coastlines in the seaside county of Ceredigion.
Just a short drive away, Cardigan Bay stretches along Wales’s west coast in a sweeping arc, offering a mix of sandy beaches, small villages, and wildlife-rich waters. It’s where you can spend mornings hiking dramatic cliffside paths and afternoons watching dolphins leap in the surf.
Wildlife adventures
One of the highlights of the bay is its thriving population of bottlenose dolphins and Atlantic grey seals. A wildlife boat trip from New Quay or St Dogmaels to spot seals and dolphins is a must-do activity.
I joined a local tour company, A Bay to Remember, which navigates the clear waters using fast RHIB boats. We spotted grey seals lounging on the rocks, seabirds diving for fish, and even a few dolphins playing in the wake of the boat.
The skippers know the area inside out, steering into sea caves and pointing out hidden coves along the coastline. It’s a chance to see the bay’s marine life up close without intruding on their environment.

Walks with a view
For those who prefer exploring on foot, the Ceredigion Coast Path offers some of Wales’s most spectacular views.
This 60-mile stretch of the Wales Coast Path runs from Ynyslas to Cardigan, weaving through dramatic cliffs, sandy bays, and quiet coves. Even walking a short section, like Aberaeron to New Quay, gives a sense of the area’s rugged beauty.
My favourite spot was Mwnt, a sheltered cove with sweeping bay views. The tiny whitewashed church here feels like it’s been watching over the coastline for centuries, and the cliffs above are a great vantage point for spotting wildlife.
Towns and villages
Aberaeron, with its colourful regency houses and lively harbour, is one of the gems of Cardigan Bay. You can easily spend a day wandering, sampling honey ice cream from The Hive on the Quay, or enjoying seafood at a harbourside bistro.
For something more historic, Cardigan Castle is a must-see. Its restored gardens and heritage centre make it a fascinating stop for anyone interested in Welsh history.
Further along the coast, Llangrannog offers a quieter charm. Its Blue Flag beach is perfect for paddling or kayaking, and the nearby headland of Ynys Lochtyn provides panoramic views of the bay. It’s one of those places that feels delightfully unspoiled, with just enough cafés and pubs to keep you well-fed.

Beaches to explore
Cardigan Bay is home to some of Wales’s best beaches, each with its own character.
At the mouth of the River Teifi, Poppit Sands is ideal for long walks and kite flying. Tresaith Beach is famous for its waterfall, which tumbles straight onto the sand.
Mwnt Beach, managed by the National Trust, is a little harder to reach but worth the effort for its secluded setting and dolphin-spotting potential.
