I’m a Celebrity runner-up Coleen Rooney has opened up about her post-jungle career in an interview with Good Morning Britain. Coleen joined Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid for her first live interview since leaving the jungle last night, December 8, and revealed it ‘felt like a dream’.
In the interview live from Australia the 38-year-old was asked by Richard if there was any truth in headlines about a £1m TV deal. Coleen responded: “Well that’s news to me… Apart from speaking to Wayne and my boys, I haven’t seen anything and I don’t intend to until I get back into the UK. I’m looking forward to Christmas, and then in January I will sit down with my team and see what I am going to do going forward.”
Opening up about her I’m a Celebrity experience Coleen, who has four sons with footballer Wayne Rooney, said: “It feels like a dream – it felt like a dream all the way through. I sat there sometimes thinking ‘I am actually in this jungle, on this show that I have watched for years… what am I doing?’” For the latest TV & Showbiz news, sign up to our newsletter.

Coleen added that her first conversation with Wayne saw the football manager confess he’d missed his wife, she added: “He just said how much he missed me, how proud he was, and he said the support back home has been unbelievable. He just can’t wait to see me and I can’t wait to see him as well.”
Wayne and Coleen have been married since 2008
Explaining to Susanna why now was the right time for her to take part in the show: “This year it felt different, I was ready to go in. My kids are that little bit older and I felt like I could leave them and be at ease. And also, within myself, I have had a lot going on in the past and I haven’t felt ready, whereas I thought, ‘you know what, give it a go’. I love the show and it was a challenge… I don’t regret anything now coming out.”
Responding to Richard who asked if she had a plan to go in and show her true authentic self, Coleen responded: “I went into the jungle with no plan – I went in for myself and not for anyone else. What you see is what you get and I think even my campmates were surprised. I think they thought ‘oh she lives in a nice house, she’s used to luxury’, but I don’t mind getting stuck in. I’m a mum of four boys. We go on trail walks, we go into ponds, we go into lakes and we get dirty… I’m strong and I don’t mind mucking in.”
She added: “You know what was my fear going in? It wasn’t the trials, it wasn’t sleeping outside or the critters, it was karaoke and cooking… I don’t do karaoke so why would I go on a show and think that I had to do it. I just enjoyed everyone else doing it.”
The doting mother also found it hard to leave her boys, Kai, Clay, Kit and Cass: “I’m with my boys day in day out. I’m there for them all the time and that was the biggest challenge for me, to not be there for them. I think that’s what took me this many years to actually take part in the show… My two older boys have stayed at home because school is important at this age and the two younger ones brought work away with them… I can’t wait to get home to the two older ones and Wayne of course.”
