James Corden and Ruth Jones, co-creators of Gavin and Stacey have revealed to fans that there’s more new material on the way. The duo, who will reprise their roles as Nessa and Smithy in the final episode of the show on December 25, have now written a book about the hit sitcom.
Mega fans looking for another Gavin and Stacey fix in 2025 will be able to buy a new behind-the-scenes book titled, When Gavin Met Stacey and Everything in Between: A Story Of Love And Friendship.
James and Ruth said: “We’re so excited to be sharing the story behind the story of ‘Gavin and Stacey’. The show has played a huge part in our twenty-five-year friendship and we hope this book will give readers a fresh insight into how it all came about.”

The star duo, Ruth and James play Nessa and Smithy in the BBC sitcom, and will be recounting “rejection, obstacles and challenges they faced” while creating Gavin and Stacey. They pair will also “explore the flourishing of their own real-life friendship”.
A section of the new book’s blurb reads: “Full of revelations and never-before-heard stories, this is a one-of-a-kind book about a show that’s already gone down in history.”
The book, ‘When Gavin Met Stacey and Everything in Between: A Story Of Love And Friendship’, will be released next year on October 16 will be available in hardback, eBook and audiobook formats. The book is available for pre-order now.
