Strictly Come Dancing contestant, JB Gill has shared how he has been told to “start pulling his weight” around the home after he aims for the top spot on this year’s show.
Chatting to Richard Green on BBC Radio Devon, the JLS singer opened up as he talked about trying to balance his home life with his wife and two young children whilst also on the search for Strictly glory.
As the radio host asked how he tries to find time for his family in the run up to Christmas whilst also maintaining his Strictly commitments, he said: “Well that’s the problem, I’ve left it to my wife for the last however many weeks, and she’s kind of ‘right, you need to start pulling your weight’, it’s all about Christmas.
“Christmas is one of my favourite times of year, it’s a time where you know, I get to have a bit of downtime with the family and especially after the last 10 or 11 weeks, you know I’ve not spent as much time with the family as I normally would. So you know I’ve got half a mind, not too much of a mind, but half a mind towards what we’re going to get up to and you know it’s one of those times where you actually get to sort of just de-stress, wind down and get the whole family involved.” the JLS star added.

But, as the month progresses, he says that he tries to make some time for his family: “It’s not always easy throughout the year, but as I say, this is a time where it’s quiet for me and I get to really engage with the kids especially.”
Having married his wife, Chloe Gill in 2014 it was 2008 when the pair first began dating. Since then, the couple have gone on to have two children together, Ace Jeremiah and daughter, Chiara Sapphire.
JB saw a quick rise to fame after auditioning alongside his bandmates, Aston Merrygold, Oritsé Williams and Marvin Humes in their boy band, JLS in the 2008 series of X-Factor. Despite finishing runners-up behind Alexandra Burke, the band continued to perform together after the show.
You can see JB Gill on Strictly Come Dancing tomorrow night (December 7) at 6.30pm on BBC One.
