Dragons’ Den is back on BBC One for 2025 and has a line-up of new guest dragons in the den. This includes Joe Wicks, who is better known as The Body Coach and is a pioneer of the health and wellness industry.
During his first episode in the den, aired on Thursday, January 9, Joe became choked up and emotional when hearing a story from a hopeful entrepreneur who has lost everything. Joseph, who is from Liverpool, was pitching his fitness business to the dragons when he became emotional.
The dad told the dragons that both his parents and close friends had passed away and it was during a really low point when he had suicidal thoughts that he came up with the business idea, which is a gym you can take anywhere. Explaining to the dragons he wanted to make his mum proud Joseph said he had even sold his house and car to fund the business and had split up from his girlfriend due to the pressure.

Joseph said: “This product brought a lot of tension onto my family life as well so I ended up splitting up with my ex-girlfriend but I believe this is my passion and my purpose in life. I want to show my kids that if you really want to do something in life you’ve got to give it 100%.”
Joseph then became emotional and began crying, while Joe, who was also emotional, said: “I’ve got to give you a little cuddle because I am feeling a bit emotional now because you are up here and you are struggling a little bit.” Giving Joseph a hug, Joe comforted him and offered him support, saying he was doing “brilliant” and “great”.
Joe then went on to offer Joseph the full money he asked for, £70,000, for a 25% share in the business. The fitness star was not the only dragon to make an offer with Peter Jones and Touker Suleyman offering to share the offer with Joe and Sara Davies also presenting a deal.
