A Christmas market in a popular market town just an hour by train from London has been named as one of the UK’s “hidden gems”.
Faversham Christmas Market was rated among the UK’s top 10 Christmas markets to visit this festive season, according to new research by Solopress, and received a total score of 6.78 out of 10.
The list was compiled using data on factors such as TripAdvisor ratings, walking and driving proximity of the market to the local train station, and the duration of the market.
The list revealed the UK’s “lesser known” Christmas markets, featuring 10 across the UK, with Canterbury Christmas Market and Faversham Christmas Market in Kent making the seventh and eighth spots on the list.

Recently named by Muddy Stilettos as one of Kent’s best places to live, Faversham is just an hour by train from London Charing Cross or 55 minutes from Bromley South station, with the market just a six-minute walk from the station.
This Christmas market received a 4.5-star rating on TripAdvisor from visitors who shopped there, with one reviewer describing it as an “underestimated town with loads to offer” and “worth a day out”.
Running for two days between December 14 and December 15, this market brings together a range of stalls from local crafts to artisan foods and drinks, as well as decorations to get you ready for the festive season.

With its cobbled streets and old houses, this Christmas Market has that old Dickensian feel that adds that touch of nostalgia to a shopping trip.
