Lines reopen at major London station after police incident sparks evacuation

Lines have reopened after passengers at a major London station were forced to evacuate during a police incident.

Services from London Liverpool Street have begun to recover following the incident this evening (December 17), the nature of which is unknown at the time of reporting.

Greater Anglia warned customers of the impact on services in and out of Liverpool Street.

They wrote on X: “Unfortunately, services in and out of Liverpool Street are disrupted due to police dealing with an Incident at the station.

Evacuation alarms were sounded throughout the station (Image: @thepatientbloke (X)) “We are working diligently with British Transport Police to reinstate services as soon as possible.”

“Sirens going off and told to evacuate immediately… it was like something straight out of a war zone!”

According to National Rail, trains may still be cancelled, revised or delayed by up to 15 minutes, with residual impact expected on services until 10pm.
