A former prisoner at HMP Wandsworth has been charged with helping former soldier Daniel Khalife when he broke out of jail and went on the run.
Adeel Khan, 30, allegedly assisted Khalife after he tied himself under a food truck in an audacious prison break in September 2023.
It is said Khan, who was a serving prisoner alongside Khalife, had an illicit phone inside the category B jail.
He is accused of helping Khalife get access to money once he had escaped.
Scotland Yard said on Monday that Khan has been charged with assisting an escaped prisoner and possession of a phone in prison.

Khan, of Alma Avenue, Highams Park, east London, is due to face the charges for the first time on Tuesday at Westminster magistrates court.
A second man, Imran Chowdhury, 25, from Chingford, east London, has also been charged with helping Khalife after he broke out of jail.
Chowdhury allegedly gave Khalife money while he was on the run.

He pleaded not guilty last week, and has been set free on bail until a hearing at Snaresbrook crown court on February 4.
Khalife, 23, who was a serving British Army soldier, is awaiting sentence for the prison break, as well as convictions for spying and terrorism.
A jury last year found he had been attempting to pass information to secret services in Iran, and had breached the Official Secrets Act.
