Police have confirmed that a man was found dead after emergency services were called to the scene of a fire in John Street, Abercwmboi, on Thursday afternoon.
South Wales Fire & Rescue Service was called to the fire at a two-storey property at 2.19pm on December 19. Six breathing apparatuses, three hose reel jets and one safety jet were used to tackle the blaze.
A spokesperson for South Wales Police said: “The fire, which was contained to one property, is not being treated as suspicious. The body of a 73-year-old man was found at the scene. His next of kin has been informed.”
