Man dies and several injured after ‘disturbance’ in Acton

A man has died after being found injured after a “disturbance” in Acton.

Emergency services were called just after 4am today (December 8) to Birkbeck Road to reports of a disturbance.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service attended the scene and found a man injured.

Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, the man died shortly after.

Several other people are believed to have been injured with some receiving treatment.

There will be a heavy police presence in the area as officers begin their investigation, a Metropolitan Police spokesperson has said.

They added that a large crime scene is in place and several roads are closed.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “At 04:05hrs on Sunday, 8 December police were called to reports of a disturbance ongoing in Birkbeck Road, Acton.

“Officers attended with London Ambulance Service paramedics and found a man injured at the scene.

“Sadly, despite the best efforts of the emergency services, he died a short time later.

“A number of other people are believed to have been injured nearby with some receiving treatment.

“The public can expect to see a significant police presence in the area as officers begin their investigation.

“A large crime scene is in place including a number of road closures.

“While we recognise the impact this will have on local residents and businesses, it is essential to provide us with the best chance to secure evidence.
