Masses of drugs seized and four arrests made after police carry out city drugs raid

POLICE have made four arrests following drug raids at two addresses in Gwent this morning, December 19.

During the raids, officers found crack cocaine, cocaine, heroin, criminal property, items related to drug supply and thousands of pounds in cash inside a properties in St Julians and Ringland, Newport.

Four people were arrested as a result of their findings. Three were men aged 21, 26 and 29, and one woman aged 42.

A spokesperson for Gwent Police said: “Officers arrested four people after carrying out simultaneous warrants at two residential addresses in Newport on Thursday 19 December.

“We seized around £2,000 cash, a large quantity of heroin and crack cocaine, a large number of mobile phones, a weighing scales and presses in two early-morning warrants.

“Officers raided an address on Coniston Close and arrested two men, aged 21 and 29, and a 42-year-old woman on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A – cocaine.

“At the same time, we raided an address on Cot Farm Close where we arrested a 26-year-old man on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A – crack cocaine; and acquiring/using/possessing criminal property.

“All four remain in police custody at this time as our enquiries continue.”
