A NEWPORT 26-year-old woman has died after a 13 month battle with cancer.
Rhiannon Morgan had been suffering from Ewing Sarcoma, a cancer that affects the bones and soft tissues. She passed away on New Year’s Eve.
Rhiannon was a beloved member of the community, known for her kindness and selflessness, and always putting others before herself.
Rhiannon’s mother, Sarah Morgan, is raising funds for her daughter’s funeral via a GoFundMe page.
Ms Morgan said: “My beautiful daughter Rhiannon passed away on New Years Eve aged just 26, after fighting the evil disease cancer. She fought so bravely for 13 months.
“I now want to give my beautiful girl the send off she deserves. I have tried all other ways to raise funds but unfortunately haven’t had any luck,” said Ms Morgan.

Ms Morgan said: “Everyone who knew Rhiannon knows how much she helped everyone never putting herself first.
“It would mean so much to me and all the family if you could donate no matter how small, every donation will be very much appreciated,” said Ms Morgan.
Ms Morgan is determined to give her beloved daughter the send-off she truly deserves. Funds raised will cover the costs of Rhiannon’s funeral, and any remaining funds will be donated to a cancer charity to support other families facing similar challenges.
“If there are any funds left after paying for Rhiannon’s funeral they will be donated to a cancer charity to help other families finding themselves in the same situation,” said Ms Morgan.
Described as a beautiful, strong, and courageous young woman, Rhiannon is remembered with love and admiration by her family and friends.
Mark Morgan called her “one of the most strong and courageous young ladies” he had the pleasure of knowing.
Rhiannon went through several rounds of chemotherapy, including taking multiple trips to London for treatment. Around four weeks ago, she was told by specialists that her cancer was terminal. She tragically passed away on New Year’s Eve.
At the time of writing, so far, £1,612 has been raised toward the £4,000 goal.
