New minibus will help Pembrokeshire Mencap clients

A new minibus has been gifted to Pembrokeshire Mencap.

The minibus was purchased following a donation from South Hook LNG Terminal.

It will ensure that students from across the county can continue to access vital services at Stackpole Walled Gardens.

The minibus will be used to safely transport Pembrokeshire adults and young people with learning disabilities, who undertake work experience and horticultural training at the historic Stackpole estate.

South Hook LNG’s general manager, Hamad Al Samra, said: “We have a long association with Pembrokeshire Mencap and the inspiring work they do for those with learning disabilities, as well as their families.

“The purchase of a new minibus enables the organisation to continue providing much needed transport to participants, safely and reliably.

“It is our pleasure at South Hook, to play our part in supporting the great work of Pembrokeshire Mencap and the special place they have created at Stackpole Walled Gardens.”

Pembrokeshire Mencap’s previous minibus was in serious need of replacement because of rising maintenance costs and time off the road.

Tony Marmara, chair of Pembrokeshire Mencap trustees, said that the new bus will mean there will be opportunities to access more learning and enjoyable experiences for clients.
