A Hampshire village has been flooded so many times it’s giving residents a bit of a haddock.
But rather than carp-ing on about it, someone in Crondall has decided to make light of the situation by displaying a ‘No Fishing’ sign by the huge pool of water on Pankridge Street.
The road has also been dubbed ‘Lake Pankridge’ due to frequent flooding in recent months.
The flooding, which has been ongoing since September, was previously caused by blockages in Thames Water sewage pipes underneath Pankridge Street.
Despite Hampshire County Council unblocking the pipes just before Christmas, the road flooded again recently.
The Herald reported in December how Christmas spirits had been dampened in the village because of the heavy flooding.
The water creates hazardous conditions for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians, many of whom are elderly.
