A team from an opticians is set to walk up Pen Y Fan in support of a sight loss charity.
The Specsavers Ebbw Vale team will tackle the four-mile round trip to the summit on Sunday, January 19, to raise funds for Sight Cymru.
The charity walk, organised by lead optometrist Rhian Price, will see staff members climb more than 400 metres of elevation, with plans to complete it in three and a half hours and a fundraising target of £500.
Most of the team, which has set up a Just Giving page, have volunteered their time to take part in the event.
Daniel Smith, optometric director at Specsavers Ebbw Vale, said: “We’re proud to organise this fundraiser for Sight Cymru, a charity whose work goes a long way in supporting patients with significant challenges in coping with day-to-day routines.
“Supporting people with sight loss is a cause that resonates deeply with our team and our own patients.
“Going above and beyond for the community we serve is something that drives us.
“Pen Y Fan is a challenging but rewarding climb, and we hope to make this the first of many fundraising initiatives.
“Every step we take on Sunday is for a vital cause, helping Sight Cymru continue its incredible work.”
