A car was stolen after the driver left it to defrost on the driveway. The incident happened at South Road in Sully, Vale of Glamorgan at around 7.30am on Wednesday, January 8.
Following the incident South Wales Police warned other motorists not to be so trusting when leaving their vehicles to defrost during the winter months. The force said the car was easily stolen by an opportunist thief as it was running with the keys in the ignition.
A spokesperson said: “A car was stolen from a driveway in South Road in Sully at around 7.30am this morning while it was defrosting with the keys in the ignition. Unfortunately there are opportunist thieves who will take advantage.”
The car was driven out of South Road in the direction of Barry. The force added: “Anyone who may have noticed anyone acting suspiciously in the area or has CCTV or dashcam footage is asked to please contact us quoting 2500006845.”
