A PEDESTRIAN is in critical condition in hospital after being hit by a van on the A467 in Risca.
The incident happened on Tuesday night at around 9pm between Full Moon roundabout and Tesco roundabout.
The road was closed all night as emergency services were on the scene.
Gwent Police are looking for people to come forward with information.

A spokesperson for Gwent Police said: “We’re appealing for information following a road traffic collision on the A467 southbound in Risca.
“It happened at about 9pm last night, Tuesday 14 January, and involved a van and a pedestrian.
“The pedestrian was taken to hospital with with injuries and is in a critical condition.
“Did you see any pedestrians on the A467 southbound between 8pm – 9pm, in the first parking area between Full Moon roundabout and Tesco roundabout?
