A Pembrokeshire-based flute choir has been featured on BBC Radio Wales.
On Sunday, December 15, the chair of Cleddau Flute Choir, Alison Blasdale, was interviewed live as part of the BBC Radio Wales Choirs in Wales feature.
The Pembroke-based flute choir, formed just over two years ago, now boasts 18 members who travel from across Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire to rehearse fortnightly.
This Christmas, the Cleddau Flute Choir has performed in care homes, the Great Glasshouse at the National Botanic Gardens of Wales, and at Pembroke and Carew Castles.
Ms Blasdale discussed the setting up of the choir and the benefits of ensemble playing, highlighting the unique sound of a flute-only ensemble.
The Cleddau Flute Choir is believed to be one of only two such ensembles in Wales.
After the interview, one of the choir’s favourite pieces, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, was played on the radio.
The choir, which plays a wide range of genres from folk to jazz, classical to pop, is now actively seeking performance opportunities in 2025.
