Pembrokeshire road closed after Storm Eowyn blows tiles from roof

The fire service was called after Storm Eowyn caused roof tiles to fall off a property in Pembrokeshire.

Fire crews were called at 8.28am to the incident at Vine Road in Johnston.

The roof ridge tiles hung off the property, forcing the road to close for around one hour.

A spokesperson for Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: “At 8.28am on Friday, January 24, the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service crew from Haverfordwest Fire Station was called to an incident on Vine Road in Johnston.

“Crew members responded to roof ridge tiles hanging off a two-storey domestic property and over a public pavement.

“A full road closure was put in place and the crew utilised a turntable ladder appliance to remove the ridge tiles and make the scene safe.

“The pavement and road have now been reopened. The crew left the scene at 9.28am.”

This comes after Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for wind in Pembrokeshire.
