Pembrokeshire wind ensemble thriving after busy start

The Pembrokeshire U3A Wind Ensemble has had a busy start to its life.

Just seven months after forming, the group has been making a name for itself, and the future is looking bright.

After a short planning time, the band had a reduced Christmas gig list, but they believe that the focus on fewer events led to higher quality performances.

The ensemble played at the U3A Group AGM, held its own Christmas concert, and performed for the Simpson Cross Community group.

All three shows received positive feedback, with the Simpson Cross group booking the ensemble for next year during the interval.

As the group plans for the 2025 concert season, it faces its biggest challenge yet.

The Pembrokeshire U3A Wind Ensemble has been chosen to provide musical support for the Haverfordwest Town Council events.

This means they will play for the Mayor’s Day service and entertain the crowds on the quayside during the Beating of the Bounds.

With more details to be confirmed, the ensemble’s engagement list is already looking full.

The group is now thriving and expanding its reach.

The past seven months have been a whirlwind of activity, transforming initial doubts into a proud legacy of performances.

The Pembrokeshire U3A Wind Ensemble is now gearing up for a busy future, with a concert programme already looking full for 2025.
