Pembrokeshire women’s football team shows festive spirit

A women’s football team in Pembrokeshire has supported a charity event by wearing Christmas jumpers to training.

Kilgetty AFC Women wore the festive attire to training this week to support Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day.

The annual event raises money for children in need.

The team joined millions across the UK who donned festive knits at work, school, or with friends, making donations to help children in need.

By dressing up, they are helping children facing serious issues like war, hunger, and poverty.

The event has raised more than £30million for children in the UK and worldwide since it began in 2012.

Kilgetty AFC Women’s captain, Maisie Sherratt, said: “As Kilgetty AFC Women’s captain, For Her champion, and under 9s girls’ team helper, it’s important to take action and support children facing difficulties.

“By joining Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day, we at Kilgetty AFC Women can stand by and help vulnerable children, and hope that they have opportunities for a safe and better life.”
