Police and home office operation sees two people arrested and E- bikes confiscated

A joint operation between Gwent Police and the home office has led to the arrest of two people and the confiscation of four illegal E-bikes.

The operation was carried out near the Subway on Newport High Street around 2pm yesterday (January 16).

Delivery drivers working for the company through online delivery agencies like ‘Just Eat’ and ‘Deliveroo’ had their bikes confiscated and were reportedly under question from immigration authorities.
