AN APPEAL to find a man from Newbridge who disappeared 12 years ago today has been renewed by Gwent Police.
Kyle Vaughan was 24 when he was last seen at around 11.45pm on December 30, 2012. His car – a silver Peugeot 306 – was involved in a crash on the A467 between Crosskeys and Risca with no other vehicles believed to have been involved according to police.
The force launched a missing person inquiry which turned into a murder investigation, with eight people arrested in connection with his disappearance, however, all were released without charge.
The force has launched an online portal for anyone who may have even the slightest bit of information relating to Mr Vaughan’s disappearance.
Detective Chief Superintendent Andrew Tuck, the senior investigating officer, said: “Kyle would be 36 now and our detectives continue to work on this case, following up any lines of enquiry that emerge.
“His family have lived with unanswered questions for so long and we remain in regular contact with them as we continue our efforts to find out what happened to him.
“I’m urging members of the public to contact us with any information they have, no matter how small it may seem, please come forward.”
The case has remained unsolved despite repeated appeals and a reward being offered.
Kyle’s father Alan Vaughan has continued the campaign to find out what happened to his son and finally give the family some answers in knowing what happened.
Mr Vaughan is desperate to know what happened to his boy, not just for his sake but also that of his wife Mary, who died after a battle with cancer in 2018 without knowing what happened to Kyle, which Mr Vaughan believes contributed to his wife’s passing.
Mr Vaughan has told the Argus of his heartbreak in missing out on Kyle’s life, saying he truly believes “someone must know what happened”, and has begged them to come forward.
