A restaurant in Pembrokeshire is searching for an apprentice chef with the potential to become the ‘next Gordon Ramsay.’
35 Main Street in Solva is one of the most highly rated restaurants in Pembrokeshire with over 500 five-star reviews on Tripadvisor.
The young cook would have the opportunity to work with head chef Julian Kreft who previously worked with Mr Ramsay and cooked for the Queen.

35 Main Street has access to fresh, local produce. (Image: Steve Henstridge) Owner of 35 Main Street, Steve Henstridge said: “We are looking for the next Gordon Ramsay. We want a guy who is looking for a platform to shine and one who Julian could train.
“They would start at the end of January or in February. We want someone who already has the gift but just needs a chance. My gameplan here is short. The person we choose could become the future owner of this restaurant.”
Julian wants a happy person who is passionate about creating exceptional dishes and elevating their culinary career.
The role is permanent, and the apprentice would be employed as a Chef de partie, playing a key role in delivering an unforgettable dining experience.
The candidate would have to meet the following criteria:

The restaurant was awarded five stars out of five for serving an outstanding version of steak and chips along with excellent customer service.
35 Main Street is renowned for its table number nine, which owner Steve has described as the ‘most romantic table in Wales,’ following two proposals, one honeymoon meal and the rekindling of a broken relationship.
Steve has owned the restaurant since December 2023.
Table number nine has a history of romance. (Image: Steve Henstridge) He bought the establishment three weeks after suffering a heart attack, leaving both his father and his lover in Buckinghamshire to pursue the business.
35 Main Street also takes pride in using locally sourced ingredients within a 30-mile radius.
A local fisherman provides Steve and Julian with fresh fish from the bay such as lobster, mackerel, crab and sea bass.
