Roads in Acton remain closed after man dies following weekend ‘disturbance’

Several roads remain closed following a ‘disturbance’ in Acton that left a man dead and several others injured.

The A4020 High Street remains closed in both directions between Acton Lane and The Vale with Mansell Road.

It comes after emergency services were called to Birkbeck Road at around 4am on December 8 with reports of the disturbance.

At the scene, a man was found injured and he died a short while later.

Several other people were also found injured.

According to the AA, congestion in the area surrounding the crime scene has backed up to Horn Lane and is “very slow” on diversion from High Street towards the A40 at Gypsy Corner.

In a statement from the weekend, a Met spokesperson said:  “The public can expect to see a significant police presence in the area as officers begin their investigation.

“A large crime scene is in place including a number of road closures.

“While we recognise the impact this will have on local residents and businesses, it is essential to provide us with the best chance to secure evidence.
